Mitsuro Hikime wax

What is Mitsuro Hikime? – It is a traditional Japanese lost wax technique.

Mitsu means honey, Ro means wax, Hiki means draw out, Me means texture.  Mitsuro Hikime is a very slow and meditative wax technique.

Discover the ancient art of Mitsuro Hikime, a traditional Japanese technique that transforms wax into stunning, one-of-a-kind jewellery. This hands-on workshop invites you to explore the fascinating properties of Mitsuro wax and how it can be manipulated to create intricate patterns and textures, resulting in truly unique pieces of art.

Discover the distinctive attributes of Mitsuro wax that make it ideal for jewellery-making. Unlike standard wax, Mitsuro wax contains a mixture of beeswax and other natural resins, which give it a pliable yet firm texture. This unique composition allows for the creation of fine, flowing lines and intricate patterns that are difficult to achieve with other materials.
